Tech Tuesday: Roadmap update

I thought I’d start laying out the site road-map for those of you who are interested.

You’ve probably noticed there’s not a lot of interactivity on the site just yet.  That’s going to change very soon. 

The first thing is that you’ll be able to join the posse of any organization that you’ve seen in the news feed.  This lets them know who their supporters are, and will be used for little features throughout the site (for instance, customizing your news feed based on your interests).

Next we’ll be enabling comments on news feed items.  Right now most organizations have blogs with comments, but they’re all off on their own little islands.  Rich discussions need a wide diversity of people - from all the different fronts of doing good.  That’s just the kind of audience that we’ve been building.

Come back soon to try these features out.  In the next update I’ll talk about two more features that we’ll be adding in the near future: crowdsourcing and micro-volunteering.
